This is a photo of Louis Glenn's mother. She is sitting in the chair and her daughter is standing.

Louis Glenn's father,Simeon Glenn, was killed in the Civil war in 1865 as reported previously on this website.

The following information was related to me by a member of the Louis and Callie Glenn family over 50 years ago;

His mother left young Louis at home one day in 1867, here in Watauga County N.C., and rode off with someone in a buggy. As darkness fell, his mother had not returned, young Louis ( only 6 years old ) went to a neighbors house. His mother never came back. Young Louis was raised as an orphan by other families.

In 1884, at the age of 23, Louis Glenn had heard that his mother might be living 100+ miles further over in Southwest N.C.,west of Asheville, N.C. He traveled to that far off location in N.C. where he had heard she might be living. After searching that far away area for some weeks, young Louis Glenn found his mother !!! He had not seen her for 17 years, since 1867, when she left him.
