		BELOW: My father, Ben Farthing, and some of his cattle on his farm on the Watauga River in the early 40s. Dad amd mother also had a flock of sheep which usually totalled 50 ewes. These ewes generally gave birth to about 70 lambs. The BUCK (RAM) was usually turned in with the ewes in August each year. The ewes would start giving birth to their young, 5 months later in January.
