Wagons are shown here at Death Valley, California. These wagons became famous in the 1800s, as they were used to transport BORAX from Death Valley across the desert to Mojave, California, over 100 miles distance.

The wagons were pulled by 10 mule teams,( 20 mules) driven by a teamster. They were loaded very heavy with the BORAX which was "mined" here at Death Valley. These wagons are on display here at one of the BORAX processing facilities. We were here in 1988.
