| Plateau Point, upper photo, overlooks the Colorado river, 3000 feet below this point.( 7000 feet below the top of rim). This is a popular destination for mule trips from the rim.In 1990, I walked this trail down to Plateau point and back to the top of the rim. It was 12 miles round trip and I made it in 6 hours.
