This mid-1920s photo shows 2 of my uncles when they were in college at BEREA, Kentucky. At left is mother's brother, Robert Glenn,( born 1904 ) and at right is Dad's brother, Thomas Farthing.( born 1903 ) They were second cousins ( their mothers were first cousins ).

After they graduated from Berea College, they each went on to medical school: Robert Glenn enrolled at Princeton University in New Jersey. ( After graduating from Princeton, he entered the Medical College Of Virginia at Richmond where he completed his medical training). Thomas Farthing enrolled at Yale University Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut.

After completing their medical training, Robert Glenn settled in Mountain City in eastern Tennessee,in 1934, where he operated his medical practice until the late 1970s. Thomas Farthing practiced medicine in California, near San Francisco, from the mid 1930s into the 1970s.
