	This photo, made in 1944, during WW2, at the Ben and Dixie FARTHING farm, shows Louis Farthing at left, who was home on leave from the U.S. Navy the first time since 1938. He was a Chief Warrant officer, one of the youngest in the U.S. Navy! Second from left is our mother, Dixie Glenn Farthing. Next is Frances, Benjy and Dixie Rae,( twins, born 1930 ),and Wheeler on right end. Louis was serving on the battleship, U.S.S. WEST VIRGINIA, when it was sunk in the Pearl Harbor attack, December 7, 1941.
