My brother, Louis Farthing, reported that this vehicle was purchased new at Boone, N.C.( 10 miles away ) He reported that a Valle Crucis neighbor, Arthur Mast, drove the new vehicle from the Chevy agency to Valle Crucis, and also helped teach Dad and Uncle Aubyn Farthing how to drive the new truck !! Louis also reported that they had a carpenter build the "homemade" cab" and truck bed.!!
