The original Valle Crucis public school building is shown at extreme left in top photo. The original Valle Crucis Bank is shown at right of the school structure. It merged in 1927 with a bank in Boone. N.C. and became a residence. The Methodist church is hidden by the trees (X). The church steeple protrudes through the trees.
