| Top photo shows flood waters in front of the original VALLE CRUCIS BANK. This structure became a dwelling house after the bank merged in 1927 with a bank in Boone, N.C. At right is the original elementary school that was built in 1907. I went to the 3rd and 4th grades here. The "new" Valle Crucis school, located across the creek, opened in 1937.
