	At left is the original house that Dad and Mother purchased in 1920 at Valle Crucis. Hwy 194 (dirt road at that time) and Clarks Creek road are shown. I was born here Dec. 1926 and Benjy and Dixie (twins) were born here in 1930. At right is the area today.(2005). Dad and mother sold the property in 1938 and we moved to their farm 6 miles away in Laurel Creek Township. A major flood swept through this area, August 1940 and this house was badly damaged. After the flood, the new owner sold the lot to the N.C.State HWY. Dept. and they relocated the road through the lot in order to get it further away from Dutch Creek. X is former house location.
