		ABOVE:   Baxter Farthing standing in front of the gate to the old home place in 1951. The vehicle is owned by my brother-in-law, B.B. Huff of Chilhowie, Va. He and my sister, Dixie Rae, had gotten married shortly before this. BELOW:  This photo, probably taken 1929, shows Me ( Baxter Farthing, born 1926 ) , my sister, Frances Farthing ( 1911-2000) and brother, Wheeler Farthing ( 1917- 1967) ..We are sitting on the footlog that spans Dutch Creek which ran in front of our house at Valle Crucis, N.C. Our house is out of the picture to the left of this footlog.
